Pour faire suite à ma première note sur les complications. Pour rappel ci-dessous, les complications classées par catégories. Une complication étant une fonction supplémentaire au simple fait d’afficher l’heure, les minutes ainsi que les secondes. Fonctions pratiques : Quantième (date), réveil & répétition minutes, chronographe (avec rattrapante), fuseau horaire, réserve de marche. Fonctions astronomiques : Quantième annuel (inclus les jours en 30 et 31), quantième perpétuel (inclus les mois de février en 28 et 29 jours), phase et âge de la lune… Fonctions techniques : Tourbillon
La montre à répétition minutes : à l’écoute du temps La montre à répétition minutes est une montre qui sonne les heures et demi-heures (et/ou quarts d’heures et/ou minutes). Utile pour connaître l’heure dans l’obscurité par exemple. Au début ces montres étaient de très grandes dimensions afin d’intégrer un système de cloche. Mais en 1783 A.L Breguet invente le ressort timbre (lame d’acier enroulée autour du mouvement qui agit comme la corde d’un instrument) qui va permettre de réduire considérablement les dimensions du système de sonnerie et par conséquent offrir la possibilité de loger cette complication dans une montre poignet. En fait 2 petits marteaux (cercles rouges ci-dessous) vont venir taper le timbre et générer le son. La difficulté est de faire sortir le son du boîtier, certaine marque comme Jaeger LeCoultre utilise le “timbre cristal”, dans ce cas, le timbre ressort touche le verre de la montre et utilise les vibrations de ce dernier pour amplifier le son. C’est très beau et surtout très agréable à entendre. Le système de répétition minutes peut être activé ou désactivé à l’aide d’un bouton. Même principe de sonnerie utilisé pour les montres avec fonction réveil. Montre avec petite seconde rétrograde La petite seconde est l’aiguille des secondes représentée dans un cadran annexe au cadran principale (image de gauche). La petite seconde rétrograde est en fait une seconde qui représente la minute de 60 secondes non pas sous forme d’un cercle mais plutôt d’un cône dont l’aiguille va revenir à zéro à chaque minute écoulée (image de droite, petite seconde rétrograde à 6 heures)
